Part-Time Temporary Youth Worker

The Clara Community and Family Resource Centre offers a range of services aimed at engaging Young People in Youth Work developmental programmes which extend into family support work, one-to-one support and counselling. The Clara FRC aims to strengthen and empower children, young people, families and the Clara community. The Clara FRC will adhere to and strive to progress the five national outcomes in relation to family and community development as outlined in ‘Better Outcomes Brighter Futures 2023-2028’. These are that children and young people are active and healthy, with physical and mental well-being, achieving full potential in all areas of learning and development, are safe and protected from harm, experience economic security and opportunity, and are connected, respected, and contributing to their world.

We are recruiting for the following position: Youth Worker (13 hrs per week @ €20.40 per hr, 4 days per week)

Job Summary: 

A youth worker supports young people in their personal, social, and educational development. They help them build confidence, develop life skills, and navigate challenges through informal education, mentoring, and community engagement.

Essential Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Highly motivated
  • Relevant experience in a similar setting
  • Good team skills
  • To effectively support individuals and groups by identifying their needs, and creating and delivering programmes that are directly responsive, inclusive, and impactful.
  • Good knowledge and experience of best practice working with children and young people and services available to families.
  • Good skills maintaining research, records and writing up reports
  • A qualification in a relevant discipline, e.g. Social Care, Youth Work, Special Needs Assistant, Early Childhood Education. We welcome applicants with Level 5 qualifications or above.
