Kildare County Childcare Committee (KCCC) is seeking a dedicated Clerical Officer to play a crucial role in providing administrative support for the KCCC team and Early Learning and Care services , School Age Services and Childminders services throughout County Kildare.
About Kildare County Childcare Committee:
KCCC, established in 2002, serves as a key driver in supporting the sustainable and quality development of the childcare infrastructure in County Kildare. We work closely with early years' services, school-age childcare services, childminders, and parents to promote and improve the childcare landscape across the county. As the local agent for the Department of Children, Disability, and Equality (DCDE), KCCC is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children and families. KCCC strives to ensure that early childhood is understood as a significant and distinct time in life that must be valued, nurtured and respected, and that every child in Kildare has equal access to the highest quality of childcare & education experiences within their local communities.
Primary Purpose of the Role:
As a Clerical Officer, you will have the exciting opportunity to support KCCC in implementing our annual statement of work in collaboration with DCDE. Your primary focus will include working as part of an established team within Kildare County Childcare Committee to provide reception, office and administrative services for KCCC team and childcare service providers. Through engaging with center based childcare services, childminders, and parents, you will contribute to the overall improvement of the early years' provision across County Kildare.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide front of house reception and telephone service in a courteous, friendly and professional manner.
- Provide administration support for KCCC Staff and Stakeholders
- Record and distribute appropriately incoming and outgoing email/ post for KCCC
- Support the effective administration of programmes, actions and initiatives of the KCCC as stated in the Local Implementation Plan in conjunction with KCCC Team
- Update and maintain the KCCC internal database’s systems
- Support with grant administration
Qualification/Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of two years’ experience of working within an office environment
- Excellent IT skills including knowledge of all Microsoft Office Programmes
- Good report writing skills
- Database and website proficiency
- Excellent verbal communication skills with an excellent telephone manner
- Knowledge of the childcare sector in Ireland is an advantage
- Degree in Early Childhood and Care Education is an advantage

This position is a fixed-term contract until December 2025 with flexibility required for evening and weekend work (All contracts are subject to funding).
This role is aligned to Grade 3 of the Local Government Salary Scales. (€30,811 )
