Pitter Patter Crèche: Manager - Early Years Service

Introduction

Pitter Patter Crèche is a community-based Crèche & Pre-school in the markets areas of Dublin – located in the MACRO Community Resource Centre, Green Street, Dublin 7.

The aim of the service is to provide an affordable, high quality, safe caring environment whereby children are given every opportunity to develop their full potential and to ensure all children are ready for school. The crèche offers full -time places for children aged 1yr – 5 yrs and operates a referral system.

We are currently seeking a candidate to undertake the role of Manager.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • ELC Qualification FETAC level 7/8 on the National Qualification’s Framework
  • Minimum 3 years experience in early years settings, ideally community settings
  • One to two (Which one?) years’ experience in a managerial/supervisory role within early childhood
  • Sound understanding of Aistear, Síolta, and current Early Years legislation and practices
  • Understanding and experience of using the Early Years Hive
  • Strong initiative, flexibility, and a supportive, team-based approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of an early years service, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for children, parents and staff
  • Leading and supporting a team of 4 childcare professionals providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Develop and implement appropriate educational programmes and ensure compliance with all government regulations, standards, and quality assurance frameworks.
  • Manage government funding programmes and ensure accurate reporting and documentation.
  • Foster positive relationships with parents and carers, communicating regularly about their child’s progress and any concerns.
  • Take responsibility for administrative duties, including scheduling, budgeting, staffing and marketing of premises.
  • Promote a child-centred approach, respecting individual needs, and fostering an inclusive, engaging environment.
  • Ensure that all safeguarding and health and safety policies are adhered to.
  • Keeping records updated

What we Offer:

  • Salary scale €37,440 to €45,760 in line with qualifications and experience.
