Castleconnell River Association: Projects Officer
Job opportunity: Projects Officer
Castleconnell River Association CLG (CRA) is a community organisation dedicated to the protection and remediation of Lower Shannon catchment waterways. An example of a project can be seen at https://www.blackrivercatchment.info
To help us bring our rehabilitation activities to the next stage, we are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual who is passionate about protecting our waterways environment. The ideal candidate could be a qualified Ecologist, Environmental Scientist, Life Scientist, Agricultural Scientist, or someone with significant practical experience in riparian management, river or stream restoration, or water quality enhancement. Some knowledge of farming would be an advantage. The job will involve liaising and working with a wide range of people from farmers/landowners, agency and local authority staff, educational establishments (primary to tertiary), and other interested locals and stakeholders. A driving licence and car ownership would be an advantage.
Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
Tenure: initial 6 month contract (including probation), with the possibility for extension.

Evening work may be required from time to time, i.e. for public gatherings, and to meet working people/landowners who may be unavailable during working hours.
Weekend and evening-time work will be compensated for by time-off in lieu.
This current position is funded by the Local Authority Waters Programme (LAWPRO).
