Our addiction support workers are essential to our mission, providing support, advocacy, and education to individuals affected by addiction and liver health problems.
Our goal is to help people make and keep healthy lifestyle choices regarding alcohol and polydrug misuse. We’re dedicated to creating peer initiatives, identifying new needs, and including feedback from service users in our programs.
The Community Response Management Committee is hiring a Community Alcohol Detox worker (fixed-term contract).

Community Alcohol Detox (CAD)
The Management Committee of Community Response is currently recruiting the right individual to work with the team supporting service users to access and undertake a community alcohol detox.
The role:
The person will act as a broker for suitable individuals seeking non-residential alcohol detoxification services in their community. They will liaise with GPs and other addiction services, creating referral pathways and providing psychosocial support to the service user. Additionally, they will assess the readiness and suitability for undertaking a detox and provide support and referrals for relapse prevention and aftercare.
Reporting: The Community Alcohol Detox broker will report on a day-to-day basis to the Team Leader and will also be supervised by them. Community Response and its work will be informed and guided by the project's strategic plan and mission.

Recruitment Details
Each candidate must possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the post. Upon offer of contract, the successful candidate will be required to provide:
- Subject to two satisfactory work references, including the most recent employer
- Original documentation for all qualification requirements for the post.
- Offers will be subject to Community Response’s Garda Vetting process.
- The post is a fixed-term contract.
Remuneration:
The Salary scale for this post is HSE Grade V (Clerical) HSE Scale 2020 v. October 2020
This position is 35 hours per week (but open to discussing flexibility around this schedule).
Location:
The post will be primarily based in the Community Response premises in Carman’s Hall, Dublin D08 DP80.
