SVP employs people to support volunteers in a variety of settings including housing, community care, shops, administration, and other specialist areas.

The Role:

We are currently looking to recruit a permanent full time Driver to join our Day Care Centre team in Kildare. The post holder will have responsibility to further the work of the SVP in the Day Care Centre in Kildare, by ensuring the smooth transportation of users of the Centre to and from their homes while also assisting in the delivery of Meals on Wheels on a daily basis. Candidate Requirements:

EDUCATION

  • Full Clean D1 License and CPC licence is essential.
  • A First Aid qualification would be desirable.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of the Society and of its mission and values.
  • Knowledge of needs and issues of the poor, elderly and disadvantaged.
  • Good knowledge of street and area locations within the Kildare area would be desirable.

EXPERIENCE

  • 1 years + driving experience with D licence and CPC licence is essential.
  • Experience of working with the elderly or vulnerable people would be desirable.
  • Experience of conducing regular road worthiness inspections of vehicles is desirable.

SKILLS

  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • Be customer focused with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Possess good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
  • Be able to establish and maintain working relationships on an ongoing basis.
