A community football health intervention for Men.

We place recreational football as ‘a hook’ to bring men together to increase physical activity to improve overall health. Our approach focuses on removing barriers, building-community and making-organising-easy. Through a place based model, we incorporate a network of recreational football sites that each deliver weekly games year round. Games provide an opportunity for flexible, inclusive, and team based physical activity focused on friendship, enjoyment with a competitive edge.

St. Francis Family Helper Programme is a charity organization registered in Uganda, the UK and Ireland. Our German sponsors are recognized for tax purposes through Kindermissionswerk in Aachen. St. Francis FHP receives patronage and support from the Archbishop of Mbarara and is located on diocesan land on Nyamitanga Hill on the western outskirts of Mbarara (western Uganda).

Founded in 1997 as the Irish School’s Video Competition, Fresh Film was originally a schools competition for secondary students. It has since grown into a year round organisation with a focus on national and international filmmakers spanning the primary and secondary age groups.

We work with local communities, representives, schools, local authorities and environmental groups to develop information and education on how to reduce light waste, protect nocturnal wildlife, and enhance our night sky. We do this through events, outreach, creating resources and guidelines and engaging with others.
