Do you want to participate in a part-time, fully online Climate Leadership Development micro-credential which will enhance your career and become a leader in the fight against climate change? You can develop your leadership skills at both an individual and organisational level with the Climate Leadership Development Micro-Credential from Trinity Micro-credentials. Learners will have an opportunity to network with like-minded individuals, and to collaborate with other professionals from across a range of sectors. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a cohort of leaders committed to driving climate action, participate in group coaching and develop a professional climate action plan.

Candidates may apply via Springboard+ to avail of 50% funding or via Trinity College Dublin Academic Registry SITS Application process.

On this 3-month learning journey, we will unpack 6 core themes:

  • Climate Change as a Systemic Challenge – addresses implementation challenges, the need for building climate capacity, developing multidisciplinary teams, and the need for systems thinking embedded in cross-organisational collaboration.
  • Principles of Climate Leadership - we will explore the importance of integrating principles of ethics into climate leadership.
  • Integrating Climate and Biodiversity into Decision Making - Why do we need to integrate climate and biodiversity into decision making and how can we do this? How are biodiversity and climate challenges interconnected? How can we address these challenges in an integrated way?
  • Driving behavioural change – understanding human perception from the perspective of individuals, organisations, and society. How to communicate effectively both within your organisation and in your organisation’s wider sphere of impact to drive climate action.
  • Policy making for Climate Action – understanding how policy is developed and what the current and possible future responsibilities are for public and private sectors.
  • Curating your Climate Leadership Journey – we will explore principles and practice to create your own Climate Leadership journey.

Applicants must have a minimum 2.2 grade in a level 8 degree or applicants without a level 8 degree may apply through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) route. Further information on RPL can be found at https://www.tcd.ie/academic-services/hci/rpl/index.php.

Presented by our IKC3 CLD MC Course Director Professor Quentin Crowley, this session will briefly offer an introduction and explore systems thinking models such as the Iceberg Model Mapping System Events model, understanding hierarchical systems, and the application of systems thinking to your challenge areas. There will be time for Q&A at the end, with an overview on the application and registration procedure explained.

This is a great opportunity to meet a panel drawn from our current cohort of course participants who will discuss their experience of the course as a learner, course impact, learning expectations, management of the course duties/time with their daily life, how to incorporate leadership skills to their life work/situation going forward, and share their own special highlights and recommendations. Each panellist will talk for five minutes and there will be time for Q&A at the end.
