Making Unwell Things Well Again - Free Zoom Webinar
The Relativity of Different Realities in Building Sustainable Relationships and Resolving Conflict.
Making Unwell Things Well Again.
Free Zoom Webinar Thursday 11th September - 7.00 - 8.30pm.
Welcome to today’s Physics Class!
Have you ever of heard of Émilie du Châtelet?
Well if not you should have.
She was a brilliant 18th Century French Scientist and enlightenment thinker whom history has sadly mostly relegated to being the romantic partner of Voltaire whereas in fact it should if anything be the other way around!
One of the things she discovered was the Law of the Conservation of Energy, which states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only change its form. For example, whilst the Universe has expanded since the Big Bang from infinitely small in size to infinitely large, the actual amount of energy in it has remained exactly the same.
Mind boggling isn’t it.
So if energy cannot be created or destroyed why do human beings “waste” so much energy in trying to destroy things and indeed each other especially in conflict? From holding obscene military parades where weapons to deploy against others are displayed, to using them against each other, to destroying vast swathes of Nature so we can make more money to thinking that if in conflict we destroy the other party’s position we can somehow advance our own.
If we listen to what Émilie is telling us from nearly 300 years ago, everything is energy and instead of using negative energy against each other in conflict, we can instead use positive energy with each other to create solutions together and not try to destroy problems.
Hinduism reflects these principles within the Trimurti of:
Brahma the Creator, Vishnu the Preserver Shiva who is often depicted as the Destroyer but in its higher form is expressed not as destruction but as a process of Transformation, Regeneration and Renewal.
Instead of destroying the future in the misguided belief that it might somehow improve the present, we need to focus our energies on Preservation of what we have, using things like differences and conflict as opportunities for transformational change and from there creating a new and better future that is sustainable, fair and mutual.
Émilie also laid some of the foundations for Einstein’s theory or Relativity by seeing that everything is part of a greater integrated reality where one action affects all other realities.
So rather than thinking that there is only one reality we need to understand, accept, and work with the fact that there are different perceptions and experiences of reality that may appear to be opposites but are in fact adjacent to each other.
For H20 can occupy any of three different realities of ice, water or steam, depending on the ecology it finds itself in. The state of any conflict is exactly the same - it depends on what ecology we put it into as to whether it will be cold as ice, a state of solution/s or boiling hot steam!
In this free Zoom Webinar we will be exploring the nature of reality and how to move the focus from things being unwell to making them well again.
How not to UN each other in conflict, which is in part at least what the UN is supposed to be about!
All are welcome and hopefully it will be an interesting and enjoyable process together with some light bulb moments along the way.
