Invite applications for the roles of both Chairperson & Vice-chair

The North Eastern Regional Drug & Alcohol Task Force wishes to recruit an independent Chairperson & Vice-chair. The duties are inter-changeable, depending on the availability of the people for specific meetings, overseeing different aspects of the work plan.

Both the chairperson & vice-chair are key figures, and the success of the Task Force will very much depend on the level of experience, commitment, skills and energy they can bring to the role. The chairperson's role is to lead the Task Force and to facilitate its meetings. They should be independent of any funded projects and preferably have no links with any of the task forces' partner agencies. The successful candidate should have:

• Experience in the role of Chairperson
• An interest and understanding of drug and alcohol misuse
• A strong background in business planning and implementation
• Knowledge and experience of social inclusion issues and community development.
• Ability to bring together organisations and individuals from different sectors to work as a team and use a partnership approach to problem-solving

The positions are both voluntary / non-salaried, but out-of-pocket expenses will be paid. A maximum of three days per month will be required to fulfill the role.

The usual term of office is three years, after which we can review matters.
