Loreto Development Group: Voluntary Board Members
Background:
Join the Board of a Community-Driven Development Group. Loreto Development Group is seeking new voluntary board members to support and guide the organisation through an exciting new chapter.
The Loreto Development Group sponsors a Community Employment (CE) Scheme and is a local employment initiative based in Springfield, Tallaght. The scheme is designed to support long-term unemployed individuals in gaining meaningful work experience, training, and personal development.
The scheme provides part-time, temporary work placements in community-based settings, including childcare services, community centres, and local support projects. Participants are supported to build skills, improve confidence, and enhance their employability, with access to accredited training opportunities tailored to individual needs and career goals. The scheme plays a key role in promoting social inclusion, community engagement, and pathways to sustainable employment for participants.
We are renewing our board to reflect a broad mix of skills, experience, and community representation.
We are looking for individuals who can bring expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Community development or social inclusion
- Early childhood education and care
- Governance and compliance (charities or company law)
- Finance or legal affairs
- Strategic planning and organisational development
- Fundraising and partnership-building
- Human resources or people management
We welcome expressions of interest from individuals who are passionate about community impact and social justice. Prior board experience is welcome but not required—training and induction will be provided.
This is a voluntary role. Board meetings are held every two months, with occasional sub-committee involvement.
Join us in shaping a future-focused, community-led organisation that builds on a proud legacy and responds to evolving local needs.
