Gort Family Resource Centre

A community project that aims to meet local needs and improve our quality of life.

We have a number of different projects going on at the moment. We are working with the Elderly in running a monthly get-together for older people. We also run Parenting Classes, and hope to be able to offer Computer Classes soon. We are establishing a Youth Club in Gort and we hope to be able to offer a Making Choices Programme for disabled people in the near future.

Hillcrest Family Centre

Hillcrest Family Centre delivers family support; health; education; and information services and programmes, to families in the local community.

The family is the core unit of any community. We believe that community based support resources that encourage the well being and development of the family ensures the well being and development of the whole community.

Home Start wants to see a society in which every parent has the support they need to give their children the best possible start in life.

Home-Start Mission
Home-Start offers support, friendship and practical help to parents with young children, in local communities.

Home-Start offers a unique service. We recruit and train volunteers who are usually parents themselves to visit families at home who have at least one child under five and offer them informal, friendly and confidential support.
