Volunteer Role: Grants Writer

Commitment: 3-4 hours per week (flexible schedule)

About Secret Street Tours:

Secret Street Tours is a non-profit social enterprise offering unique walking tours led by guides who have experienced homelessness. Our mission is to empower our guides with meaningful employment, income and training, and a platform to share their stories, while challenging stereotypes and promoting socially responsible tourism.

Role Purpose:

The Grants Writer will help secure key funding by identifying grant opportunities and preparing compelling, high-quality applications that demonstrate the impact of our work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research grant opportunities from trusts, foundations, public bodies, and other funding sources.
• Prepare, write, and submit clear and persuasive funding proposals.
• Maintain a pipeline and calendar of grant deadlines.
• Work closely with Senior Management to ensure funding applications align with organisational priorities.
• Track application outcomes and report on successes and learnings.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising or other relevant areas.
• Excellent written communication skills and proofreading skills.
• Commitment to Secret Street Tours’ mission and values.
