Communications and Social Media Assistant – Volunteer Position
At Books at One, we are more than simply a place to buy books – we are a social, cultural, and creative hub for people of all ages to come together through stories. A social enterprise intentionally situated in areas of social disadvantage and rural isolation; Books at One encompasses a network of local bookshops that transform the act of reading into a powerful tool for community connection.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a volunteer to support our three community bookshops in communicating our story through social media in a creative and engaging manner.
This role involves:
- managing all Books at One social media channels
- establishing new social media channels
- researching and creating content for social media channels
- updating our website and online shop
- creating newsletters for our supporters and customers
- exploring innovative ways to drive footfall and online sales
- assisting at events, book launches and workshops
The ideal candidate will have:
- A love of reading and an interest in the book industry
- Ability to travel to our shop in Dublin
- Commitment to Books at One values
- Ability to work within Books at One policies and shop guidelines
- Experience of using Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, WordPress, YouTube, LinkedIn
- Good written and visual communication skills
- Ability to think creatively
- Ability to deal in a professional manner when communicating online
- All volunteers must agree to Garda Vetting
