Invitation
Re: Invitations for Third Parties to apply for HLC Space in the Alice Reeves Building, for the purpose of providing psychotherapy services
Background
The Healthy Living Centre (HLC) is an innovative health care and well-being space situated on the first floor of the School of Nursing, Psychotherapy & Community Health (SNPCH) in the Alice Reeves building of the Glasnevin campus, DCU. The space provides a psychotherapy lab and skills training centre and other healthcare services to DCU and the community locally and nationally. The dedicated footprint of the space consists of 5 consultant rooms (2 opposite the reception area and 3 beside and behind the reception area), 1 group therapy room, and 1 reception desk.
At this time, DCU invites interested parties to apply for occupancy of the space, from September 2025, and invites proposals that include:
- A proposal of annual rent offered, noting that a minimum of €25k would be expected;
- Agreement that the successful party will pay utility costs in addition to rent;
- Agreement that the successful party will provide their own staff as required, to include therapists, reception staff;
- Provision of a minimum 12 student placement opportunities annually for DCU students undertaking the MSc in Psychotherapy;
- A statement outlining how the interested party aligns with the values of the School, and how they will bring added benefit to the Psychotherapy team in the school in particular.
It is noted that the agreement is for the physical premises only. No software, client lists, therapist lists, etc., will form part of the agreement.
The rental of the space will be operationalised via a lease agreement, with requirements around insurance, notice terms, etc. The rental party will be required to demonstrate that they have all necessary authorisations, insurance etc. expected of a psychotherapy practice, and to commit that they will not expand their services beyond the terms of this agreement.
