What to expect:
This webinar will provide practical information on the role of a coroner and on the law, standards and procedures that apply at inquests for a person who died by suicide and/or suspected suicide. Also, HUGG will provide information on suicide bereavement resources, services, and supports available.
Guest Speaker:
Patrick O’Connor, is a solicitor and now a retired coroner with over 45 years’ experience of working in the Coronial Service, including serving as the Coroner for the District of Mayo from 2016 to 2024. He is a former President of the Law Society of Ireland and served as a Council member of the Coroners’ Society of Ireland from 2006 to 2024. He is also the author of “Handbook for Coroners in the Republic of Ireland”.
Facilitator:
Yvonne Rosenkranz, an experienced facilitator specializing in group and individual well-being. With a focus on personal growth and development, she brings a compassionate and insightful approach to guiding conversations on sensitive topics.
Who should attend this webinar:
Anyone bereaved by suicide or bereaved by a suspected suicide. We encourage anyone supporting someone bereaved by suicide, including volunteers and professionals to attend. We welcome organisations such as Citizens Information, Family Resource Centres, Primary Health Care Staff, Funeral Directors, Chaplains, Gardaí, Teachers and Educators, and many more.
