Role & Position Overview
We are seeking a creative, self-motivated, and highly skilled Social Media Manager & Content Creator to drive our digital communications, grow our online presence, and build engaging campaigns that reflect the mission and vision of the Africa Solidarity Centre Ireland. This is a full-time position that requires hands-on management of social media platforms, content creation, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with Africa Centre’s goals and campaigns.
- Manage all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok) including daily posting, scheduling, and performance tracking.
- Create high-quality, visually compelling content (graphics, videos, reels, stories, captions, newsletters) using tools like Canva, Hootsuite, and Constant Contact.
- Collaborate with various teams to promote programmes, initiatives, events, and campaigns.
- Monitor analytics, track performance metrics, and generate monthly reports on engagement and reach.
- Engage with followers, respond to messages/comments, and foster an active and inclusive digital community.
- Stay updated on trends and best practices in digital marketing, particularly within nonprofit and advocacy spaces.
- Support the design and dissemination of newsletters, press releases, and event promotions.
Requirements
- Proven experience (2+ years) in managing social media and creating digital content.
- Proficient in Canva, Hootsuite, and Constant Contact (or similar email marketing platforms).
- Strong written and visual storytelling skills with an eye for detail and design.
- Understanding of digital marketing strategies and audience engagement.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Experience working in nonprofit, advocacy, or multicultural settings is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of African cultures, communities, and social justice issues is desirable.
