Volunteer Opportunity – Friendly Call Cork - Cork City Partnership
Friendly Call Cork is seeking dedicated and compassionate volunteers to support our telephone befriending service. We provide daily phone calls to older and vulnerable adults who may be feeling isolated or lonely, offering reassurance, companionship, and a friendly voice.
Please note: This volunteer opportunity is based in Cork and is open to individuals living locally.
Volunteer Role:
As a volunteer, you will make regular telephone calls to clients. These calls can be made from our office or, in some cases, from your own home. Full training and support will be provided.
Volunteer Requirements:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent English (C1 level or higher)
- Comfortable engaging in conversations with people from a variety of backgrounds
- Empathy, patience, and reliability
- A genuine interest in supporting older people
Time Commitment:
Flexible – a few hours per week, depending on your availability.
Please Note:
All volunteers must complete Garda vetting, which typically takes approximately one month to process. Induction training and ongoing support will be provided.
