Facilitator: Amy Gibney, National Coordinator – Grief in the Workplace & Grief Awareness at Irish Hospice Foundation

About the Webinar
Depending on the nature of a volunteer’s role, they may be supporting or working with those who are experiencing grief or supporting service users who are sick and may die. As a result, volunteers themselves can experience grief, arising from the work they do in caring for others. This is sometimes referred to as ‘Professional Grief’.
This webinar will provide volunteers with an overview of the grieving experience, including the impact of personal and professional loss. It will also provide volunteers with some tips on coping with loss as part of their work.
On completion of the webinar, you will:
- Recognise the ways in which grief can impact you as a volunteer.
- Reflect on the grieving experience in terms of personal and professional loss.
- Identify ways of coping with grief as part of your work.
