Often Pet Bereavement falls into the category of disenfranchised grief. Pet bereavement is felt differently by everybody, even those within the same household as our pets mean different things to each of us. However, grief, in all its forms, deserves compassion, consideration, and respect.
Attendees will learn practical ways they can support the person during this process, as well as signs that the individual is struggling to cope. Attendees will also be invited to reflect on their own experiences of loss and how these may interact or colour the ways in which they support others.

You can take part in a Darkness Into Light official walk, Take Part in Your Own Way, or you can create your own DIL Fundraiser by holding a bake sale, a car wash, a sponsored silence, a run, or a swim and fundraising with your family, friends and colleagues in your local area.
This is a free event for anyone who is bereaved, supporting someone who is bereaved, or works in the community supporting those who are bereaved. Speaker Bryan Nolan will give a talk on bereavement, and there will be a Q&A session with a panel of people with lived experience of bereavement.
