Galway Community Circus

Galway Community Circus is inviting tenders from suitably qualified consultants to conduct an in-depth consultation with children, young people and their communities as part of the planning process for our new 2022-2027 strategy to be launched in May 2022.

We want to ensure that our future plans are in line with what our participants and their communities want. We would like the consultation to explore the views and aspirations of several key groups of stakeholders:

  • Children and young people who are currently involved in our programmes
  • Their families and communities
  • Young people from our catchment area with whom we would like to encourage engagement and a sense of interest
  • People from marginalised groups whose needs aren’t perhaps adequately being met by existing programmes

The consultation should provide us information on the needs and wishes of our participants towards the direction of our programmes, analyse possible barriers for participation and provide recommendations on our future development. We expect the methodology to reflect the Lundy model / Hub na nÓg principles and include mixed methods including in-person, digital, group and individual methods. We expect the consultation process to be sensitive to and inclusive of diverse children and their communities. This work is funded by the Arts Council Capacity Building Support Scheme.

Funded in 2002, Galway Community Circus is Ireland’s flagship organisation for youth and social circus, with a local, national and international remit. Our aim is to advance the artistic, personal and social development of young people through Circus Arts. We are committed to creating an innovative and imaginative learning experience where all young people can realise their full potential. Through our ground-breaking programmes and high-quality productions, Galway Community Circus has proven itself to be a cradle of artistic excellence and educational innovation in Ireland, working with 500 young people from diverse backgrounds weekly.
