International Fund for Ireland: Programme Manager

International Fund for Ireland

The International Fund for Ireland (IFI) has promoted economic and social advance and encouraged reconciliation between nationalists and unionists throughout Ireland since it was established as an independent, international organisation by the Irish and British Governments in 1986. With contributions from the United States of America, the European Union, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, the Fund has committed over €930m to date, positively impacting lives across Northern Ireland and the border counties of Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Cavan, Monaghan and Louth.

The IFI wishes to recruit a Programme Manager to join the team of IFI Programme Managers working in the six southern border counties.

This is a fixed term position until 28 February 2025. There is no entitlement to permanent employment with the IFI.

Reporting to the Joint Director-General in the Dublin Office of the International Fund for Ireland, the incoming Programme Manager will be able to develop projects across the programmes of the IFI including programmes with a significant cross-border and cross-community focus.

A self-starter with a pro-active approach to the challenges of the position and the ability to develop a strong local network, the successful candidate will possess the drive and determination to identify, develop and support projects throughout their life-cycle. Exposure to the voluntary sector and a background in the socioeconomic development of the border counties will be especially valued.

This is an exciting and challenging role providing an opportunity to contribute significantly to the achievement of the International Fund for Ireland’s strategic aims and objectives. The post is home based and applicants must have a stable internet connection for e-working. Participation in regular video conference calls is necessary. The successful applicant will need to be in possession of a full drivers licence and have access to a vehicle.

The role will primarily cover County Donegal, but engagement with projects in other counties in the border region and Northern Ireland will be necessary at times. An attractive salary is on offer, based on a 4 day week.
