ACET (AIDS Care Education and Training)


ACET is looking for a Half-Time Support Worker for our Migrant Plus project which supports communities of migrant background in health inclusion. The post will be a part of a new partnership with HIV Ireland on rapid HIV testing. Our activities are particularly with Black-African/Black-Irish communities with a focus on faith communities.

The post includes:

Engaging with communities of migrant background as part of the Migrant Plus activities while promoting and facilitating health inclusion. This includes a range of one-to-one and group activities as developed alongside the Migrant Plus Coordinator. Taking part in the mobile testing service of HIV Ireland as it delivers rapid testing and provides sexual health information in appropriate settings.Participating in all relevant activities of ACET’s Core Team.

The successful candidate will have:

A third level qualification (or equivalent) in the area of health promotion, intercultural studies, community work or a relevant fieldA minimum of the equivalent of two years experience of working with communities of migrant background whether in faith communities, minority ethnic associations or other settings.The post-holder will be expected to have a commitment to the ethos of ACET, which can be applied, to the delivery of the Migrant Plus project. This is a genuine, legitimate and justified occupational requirement of this post with regard to ACET’s ethos.
