Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland: Education and Employment Coordinator

Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland

Experienced? Passionate? Professional? Then we want to hear from you.

Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland (SBHI) is looking for a full-time Education and Employment Coordinator to commence a 16-month contract from March 2021. The role will involve the coordination of education and employment supports for family carers associated with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus.

The position is offered on a full-time basis (35 hrs p/week) working remotely or in the National Resource Centre, Dublin (depending on the location of the successful applicant and ongoing COVID-19 restrictions).

It should be noted that as a result of COVID-19 our services are now conducted over the phone and online, so staff have the flexibility to work from home depending on Government guidelines and a suitable space to do so.

We are seeking someone with experience in education, training, employment or project management, who carries a passion for facilitating real-life change for family carers supporting individuals with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus. With relevant vocational skills and professional qualifications, you will seek to meet the needs of family carers who wish to reengage in the workforce, or who wish to upskill for future workforce reengagement.

This is a challenging role in a charity setting, demands on your capabilities will be tested and we require someone who thrives on overcoming tough situations with initiative and high levels of self-motivation. You will be fully supported by a hands-on CEO, Deputy CEO and the Education and Training Manager, as well as the wider team of your SBHI colleagues who combine to facilitate life-changing work on behalf of everyone affected.

You will need your own car, a clean driving licence, and business insurance cover in order to fulfil this position. Mileage costs are reimbursed for all work-related travel expenses subject to available budget for this purpose.
