Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland (SBHI) is looking for a full-time Employment Facilitator to commence a 12-month contract from May 2023 (extension dependent on funding). The role of the Employment Facilitator is to provide professional advice, support and guidance to people with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus seeking education, employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

The position is offered on full-time (35 hrs p/week) working on a hybrid basis - in the National Resource Centre, Clondalkin, Dublin and remotely.

We are seeking someone with experience in the area of employability and who can provide motivational support, career advice and guidance to our members whilst making them feel welcome and at ease, enabling them to overcome barriers and build confidence. You will provide training workshops covering a wide range of subjects from CV writing to online job searching. You will engage with our members to assess their skills and abilities and talk about their ambitions and career goals whilst exploring learning and work opportunities acting as an intermediary with employers.

This is a challenging role in a charity setting, demands on your capabilities will be tested and we require someone who thrives on overcoming tough situations with initiative and high levels of self-motivation. You will be fully supported by a hands-on CEO and the Education and Training Officer, as well as the wider team of your SBHI colleagues who combine to facilitate life-changing work on behalf of everyone affected.

You will need your own car, a clean driving licence, and business insurance cover to fulfil this position. Mileage costs are reimbursed for all work-related travel expenses subject to available budget for this purpose.
