IT and Social Media Assistant
Background
SICCDA are seeking applications for an exciting role which has arisen within our CE scheme based in the Liberties, Dublin 8. The suitable candidate will work closely with our Community Development team to grow SICCDA’s social media presence and to promote all our projects and community initiatives across key social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. In addition, the successful candidate will help develop SICCDA’s website to ensure a positive user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing SICCDA’s social media presence and content on a variety of platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
- Working with SICCDA’s team to plan and develop an updated social media strategy
- Responding to queries and comments submitted through social media platforms in a timely and professional manner
- Designing social media content and posters
- Maintaining the SICCDA website (www.siccda.ie) and content
- Providing assistance to staff with their general IT needs
- Liaising with external IT company regarding new users, IT issues and general IT matters
- General office and administrative tasks
- Using Microsoft and online software packages
- Otherwise assist as directed
Training opportunities will be provided to allow the successful candidate to enhance IT and social media skills.
Closing date is the 24th February 2023.
To be eligible for CE you must be over 21 and in receipt of a social welfare payment for at least 12 months.

Afterschool Workers x 2
This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.
These 2 positions are Community Employment Programmes and will be based in Dublin 8.
Duties
- Create a positive approach to children so that each child is encouraged to develop confidence and self-esteem.
- Communicating calmly and effectively with children.
- Assist children with their homework.
- Prepare food for children.
- Setting simple, clear limits and boundaries for children and ensure that these are followed.
- Supporting Team Leaders and other members of the team.
- Organising activities for the children.
- Cleaning and ensuring that the afterschool environment is maintained to a high standard.
- To participate in training relevant to the role of Afterschool Worker.
- Adhering to relevant health and safety as well as child protection procedures.
- QQI Childcare Training provided.
- You must agree to be Garda Vetted in order to accept this role.
Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.
Community Development Outreach Worker x 2
This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.
These 2 positions are Community Employment Programmes and will be based in Dublin 8.
Duties
- Support the Dublin 8 community to engage with SICCDA services
- Work closely with the Community Development Coordinator to identify gaps in services and devise solutions.
- Develop and implement a range of innovative programmes to effectively engage the community, especially those who are hard to reach.
- Provide a telephone check in service to the community and clients of SICCDA
- Provide outreach support in the community and engage in weekly work with the community.
- Facilitate weekly groups and complete appropriate administration where required.
- Work with the Community Development Team on various projects.
- To undertake industry standard and /or accredited training relevant to the role.
- You must agree to be Garda Vetted in order to accept this role.
- Otherwise, assist as directed.
Closing date is the 26th March 2023.
