STAFF NURSE / SOCIAL CARE WORKERS / SUPPORT WORKERS
We are offering an opportunity to Staff Nurse/Social Care Workers/Support Workers to join our organisation working with and supporting individuals in their homes in the Westmeath Services.
Therefore, we are seeking to recruit motivated, enthusiastic, creative and energetic Staff Nurse/Social Care Workers/Support Workers to support individuals with an intellectual disability to realise their vision for a ‘good life’. The focus of the role will be to lead initiatives in supporting the individuals to live a life of their choosing and what matters most to them. The role will support the individuals to become connected and valued within their local community, to provide opportunities for new experiences and to assist each person in developing real and authentic relationships. The ideal candidates will have a proven track record in supporting individuals to develop valued social roles and also have experience in supporting individuals with communication needs and those who may display behaviours of concern. The ideal candidates will have experience of person centred planning and knowledge of person directed and individualised support approaches.

- On the live register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland, RNID or Relevant recognised Diploma in Social Care / Applied Social Studies in Social Care (Level 7 on National Framework of Qualifications), or FETAC/QQI level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support/Health Service Skills;
- Full current driving licence;
- Experience of supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism is highly desirable;
- Excellent organisational, logistical and I.T skills an advantage;
- Suitability as outlined in the introduction to the role.

Please note that the successful candidates will be required to be available for any of day, weekend, waking night duty and ‘sleep-over / over-night’ shifts. In addition, we require staff members to be willing to work alone in the residents’ homes and across a variety of locations if required.
