Bray Women’s Refuge: Refuge Support Workers (Part Time)
Long established in Co Wicklow, Bray Women’s Refuge Housing Association is an NGO, an AHB and registered charity that primarily offers short term crisis accommodation in emergency need situations. Providing safety, support, information and advocacy for women and children fleeing from or in fear of domestic abuse and coercive control. The organisation also offer community supports provided by ANU Wicklow ,the community outreach support element of the organisation who can provide advocacy and accompaniment, one to one support, information, school workshops, psychoeducational group programmes, and a court application information and support service, and a support and accompaniment service for women subjected to domestic abuse and coercive control in County Wicklow.
Bray Women’s Refuge is currently recruiting for the following positions:
REFUGE WEEKEND SUPPORT WORKER
(Part Time: 20 Hours Per Week)
REFUGE RELIEF PANEL WORKERS
(Part Time: Hours Vary)
Both positions play pivotal roles in the delivery of services and supports to women and children resident in refuge who have been subjected to domestic abuse and coercive control.
The role involves one-to-one support, listening ear, negotiation skills, advocacy, referral / admission coordination, facilitating discharge and inter-agency work on occasion.
The roles also include providing information and support to callers on the 24-hour Helpline Service, record keeping and data entry.
The work is directly with women and children supporting day to day living, parenting and health and safety of the setting. As part of a small team, you will be supporting emotional and physical needs and ensuring a safe and secure environment is maintained and that women’s and children voices are heard in service planning and delivery.
