L’Arche Cork is recruiting for the position of Deputy House Leader.

This role involves leading a team of assistants in order to provide a home for residents with an intellectual disability in accordance with their human rights.

The primary role of this position is to work closely with the house leader and the team to provide support for the residents with their activities of daily living and healthcare needs through adhering to the L’Arche ethos and National Standards. The candidate who is successful in filling the position will be a good communicator and will have a warm and friendly disposition. Good organisational and written skills are also essential aspects of the role.

This will be a full-time live-out role which will include some evenings and weekends.

Requirements for the role include the following:

• Candidates must have a relevant qualification in social care, healthcare or similar area.
• Some previous experience of working with a team along with good organisational and written skills.
• Knowledge and experience of working with people with an intellectual disability and supporting them in managing their well-being with a person-centred approach
• A good understanding of HIQA requirements and of the National Standards for Residential Services for Children and Adults with Disabilities and The Health Act 2007 along with Regulations 2013
• The person filling the role will demonstrate a clear commitment to community integration and active citizenship for all people with disabilities.

A full clean driving license.
