Administration Worker – Dublin South Central

Location: Family Support Service Dublin South Central, Barnardos, Christchurch Square, Dublin City /D8
Contract: Part-time 10 hours per week and Specific Purpose contract, est. duration to December 2023
Salary: €6,679 -€10,347 DOE this is the pro-rata salary for 10 hours per week

What we do

Barnardos Initial Assessment and Family Support Service, Dublin South Central is a new service that has been established through a partnership with Tusla. The service will conduct Initial Child Protection Assessments on behalf of our funders Tusla, whilst also providing trauma-informed family support interventions to some families who have been through the Initial Assessment process.

Barnardos work in close partnership with families, statutory bodies and voluntary agencies to bring about better outcomes for children and families.

Where we work

The Barnardos Initial Assessment and Family Support Service is based in our Christchurch Square office (Dublin 8) and works with families in the Dublin South Central catchment area.

Job purpose

To provide an efficient and flexible administrative support service to support the implementation of a new Barnardos Initial Assessment and Family Support Service in Dublin South Central.

  • Awareness of confidentiality and the ability to deal with sensitive queries.
  • Teamwork required and the ability to work in collaboration with others.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to consult where appropriate.
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in terms of tasks and time is essential for this post.
  • Ability to create and develop effective administrative systems to promote positive team effectiveness


  • Minimum of 2 years’ direct relevant administration experience essential.


  • Junior cycle profile of achievement or equivalent minimum level of education.
  • A working ability in IT Systems, word processing and finance skills essential.

Ability to drive and access to the use of a car is essential.

The post-holder is initially assigned to work in the Dublin South Central Area but may be required in the future to work in other locations in the Dublin area in line with Organisational needs and funding allocations.
