The School Completion Programme (SCP) is a TESS programme that aims to have a significant positive impact on levels of young people’s retention in primary and second level schools and on numbers of pupils who successfully complete the Senior Cycle, or equivalent. The School Completion Programme works with students aged 4-18. The Sligo SCP provides support for 13 schools in Sligo Town and County and South Donegal.

Sligo SCP is currently recruiting for the following position

Full Time Project worker – 35 hours per week (fixed term)

to provide direct support to targeted young people

The Ideal candidate should have the following:

  • Education to degree standard in one of the following: Social Care, Education or Youth Work.
  • Experience of working with young people within a supportive environment.
  • Experience in the delivery of evidence informed/ based programmes to young people
  • Skills and talents that are transferrable to developing programmes that will engage students at risk. Desirable skills sets may include art, sports, music, multimedia, etc.
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Full drivers licence and access to a car

This post is for the academic year 2022/23. Salary is commensurate with experience. The salary scale is based on the City of Dublin V.E.C Youth Worker Salary Scale.

In accordance with The National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Acts 2012 to 2016 E vetting will be a requirement for the successful candidate.
