Assistant Community Employment Supervisor (39 hours Full Time)
Youth Work Ireland Midlands Community Employment (CE) Project is funded under the Department of Social Protection (DSP), with its participants supporting the work of the various Youth and Community projects across Westmeath and Offaly. This is an employment support programme providing work experience, training and up/reskilling to those participating on the programme, whilst also providing valuable services to the community.
The successful candidate will assist in the administration and day-to-day running of the Community Employment (CE) Scheme, with a base in Mullingar Co. Westmeath. Duties will include assisting in the supervision of a varied team of 30 CE participants operating in a variety of roles supporting community groups and businesses in Mullingar, Athlone and Tullamore. Applicants should have a reasonable knowledge and understanding of Community Employment.
Candidates must have attained a Major 3rd level qualification (NFQ Level 6 or higher) in either Business/Financial Administration, Training, Human Resources, Community Development or Supervisory Management (not only Social Studies, while this may be part of qualifications).
Requirement for at least 1 year supervisory experience, facilitation or training experience and strong ICT skills are essential (e.g. MS Office). Own transport is essential, as this role is multi location.
This post will enter on Point 1 of the Scale set out for Assistant CE Supervisors based on a Scheme with 15 or more participants; Point 1 commences at €429.50 to Point 4 €542.84 gross per week.
