AIM Project Officer (Part Time, 3 days, or 24 hours per week)

Fingal County Childcare Committee’s vision is for universal access to quality assured and inclusive childcare services delivered by a dedicated professional workforce in a region where statutory and voluntary agencies work collectively to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families.

The Better Start Access and Inclusion Model (AIM) is a model of supports designed to ensure that all children can access quality Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE). Its goal is to empower service providers to deliver an inclusive pre-school experience, ensuring that every eligible child can fully participate in the ECCE programme and reap the benefits of quality early years care and education.

The Fingal County Childcare Committee (FCCC) is recruiting a Part Time AIM Project Officer on a Fixed Term Contract from August until 31st December 2022. Subject to funding. The suitable candidate will be a strong team member and possess the ability to work on their own initiative.

The AIM Project Officer will have responsibility for components of the Local Implementation Plan (LIP 2022) relating to AIM and the maintenance of comprehensive action files that evidence and document effective delivery of a wide range of supports for Parents and Early Years Providers in the Fingal Area. This includes adherence to the FCCC record keeping protocols and internal communication mechanisms.

Key roles and responsibilities

  1. Coordination of training delivery including trainers, suitable venues, and materials
  2. Coordination of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Training and other AIM Training as the need arises
  3. Dissemination of information pertaining to the AIM model to parents, providers, and other relevant stakeholders as necessary
  4. Work with FCCC Development Officers on follow up supports for providers and parents in relation to AIM
  5. Working with the Better Start AIM Team to ensure there is a wraparound suite of supports for parents and providers in the Fingal Area
  6. Build the capacity of the Early Childhood Care and Education Sector and enhance and develop quality services for children and their families
  7. The development of comprehensive supports around the AIM Process, infrastructure, and services where the holistic well-being of children and families are fundamental.
  8. Reporting monthly to the Board of FCCC through the Operations Manager
  9. Research/information gathering as required
  10. Any other role deemed appropriate for the FCCC Operations Manager/Board



  • Minimum Level 8 Qualification on the QQI National Framework of Qualifications in Early Childhood Care and Education or other relevant discipline
  • Working Knowledge of the AIM Model
  • Working Knowledge of National Practice Policy and Guidelines
  • At least 2 years Post Graduate Experience in a Coaching and/or Mentoring Role
  • Experience Preparing Presenting Progress Reports at Regular Intervals to Relevant Stakeholders
  • Flexibility of Working Hours to Include Evenings/Weekends
  • Experience of Preparing and Delivering Training to Adult Learners


  • Clean Driving License and Access to Own Transport

This post is a fixed term contract (August – 31st December 2022) and is funding dependent. The successful candidate will be required to work 3 consecutive days per week, 24 hours (Grade 5, point 1, Pro Rata) and while it will be based in the FCCC Office, Omega House, Collinstown Cross, Swords, Co. Dublin, FCCC are currently working remotely. Hours and days will be determined by the FCCC Operations Manager.
