Afterschool Team Leader Term Time (38 Weeks per year) - Starting 31st of August 2022

Applications are being sought for a suitably qualified and experienced person for the role of

Afterschool Team Leader.

We require a dedicated, flexible, and enthusiastic individual who is quality driven and has a child focused approach to school aged childcare and education. The hours of work will be 2-6 p.m. Monday-Friday (20 hours) in Term Time with the option of running Camps in out of Term hours. Extra time for curriculum planning of approx. 1-2 hrs per week may be added on a day which suits the candidate.

Essential - Experience with School aged children and in a School aged childcare setting.

Desirable – A relevant childcare or social care qualification. Experience in a Leadership role.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience of leading a team including administration, supervision and management of staff, and general organisational skills.
  • Have an inclusive approach to practice.
  • Have knowledge of the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) (Registration of School Age Services) Regulations 2018
  • Have an understanding and knowledge of all aspects of operating a quality school aged environment.
  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of child protection and the duties and responsibilities under Children First.
  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety legislation as well as certification in First Aid/Manual Handling and Fire Safety.
  • Have experience of working with parents as partners.
  • Be prepared to engage in further training and development
  • Have a flexible approach to their work.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have an ability to work in partnership with other Educators.
  • Be prepared to complete a Garda Vetting form and any additional mandatory training required for the role.
  • Be naturally warm and respectful towards children and families & their needs
