Clondalkin Travellers Development Group invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of:
Youth & Community Worker
The Youth & Community Worker will work as part of the Clondalkin Travellers Development Group Team in supporting the provision and coordination, of youth work services in the Clondalkin, Lucan, Palmerstown and Newcastle area. He/she will develop and implement programmes and services that support the work of CTDG with young people from the Traveller Community.
This is a UBU project funded by Dublin & Dunlaoghaire Education and Training Board, which aims to support young people aged 10 to 24 years of age in fulfilling their potential through voluntary participation in structured non-formal programmes and activities which are specifically tailored to their needs. UBU projects aim to equip young people with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for the appropriate and full participation in society
The successful applicant will have
- A recognised third level qualification in one of the following areas, Youth and Community Work, Social Work, Education, or other relevant discipline
- Knowledge of the challenges facing young Travellers in Ireland
- Experience of and ability to engage with young people living in marginalised communities
- Full driving licence.
- Post will be subject to Garda Vetting
