Role Purpose/ Summary

To provide Service Excellence to our customers and colleagues by building a deep understanding of their needs, requirements and expectations and consistently meeting, managing and exceeding their expectations in a professional, courteous and respectful manner.

On behalf of the Department of Children, Equality, Disability and Youth, Pobal manage a range of funding programmes and supports for over 4,500 Early Learning & Care & School Age Services in Ireland as part of First 5 – the whole of Government strategy to improve the lives of babies, young children and their families.

Pobal are now establishing a Project Management Office (PMO) across its Early Years remit. The PMO will have responsibility for the effective and efficient management of the full portfolio of Projects to support improvements and changes to existing programmes and the introduction of new programmes and supports with a current value of over €500m pa.

Our goal is to develop and maintain excellence in project management to ensure consistency, continuity, and predictability in service development of Early Years programmes.

The PMO Manager is responsible the establishment and development of the PMO including the development, delivery, and maintenance of a standard project management methodology, which will be applied across all projects associated with Pobal’s Early Years remit.

Acting as a central control point for the management and oversight of all projects, this unit and the PMO manager will ensure consistency in planning, project reporting, and risk management. The PMO Manager will also be responsible to ensure processes are well managed and supported and that the end product is effective and meets both operational and end user/customer needs supporting service excellence.
