Youth Worker Specialising in Music Development

12 month Fixed Term Contract

Drogheda Youth Development CLG was established in 1993 to address the need for a youth service in the town. The overall aim is to promote and support youth work in a way that brings about positive social change. Now operating as Boomerang Youth Service & Café it provides a range of Recreational Educational and Specialist Supports to young people and their families

Key Responsibilities

The purpose of the Studio Sounds Programme is to use music as a vehicle to engage young people in a journey of self-discovery and growth which will cover various elements of music development and also the core elements of youth work

As the Lead Youth Worker in the Music Team, you will be key in ensuring young people have access to an exciting and creative programme, that will be challenging, stimulating, fun, engaging and developmental and enables young people to explore their creativity and grow their skills

Essential Professional Qualifications and Experience

  • A relevant Third Level Qualification in Youth Work with primary interest in Music Development
  • It is highly desirable that the applicant displays current or previous experience of work in the music trade/industry
  • A minimum of 1 year relevant youth work experience
