Clare Haven Services is a voluntary organisation providing 24 hour residential refuge accommodation and a range of support services to women and children who experience domestic abuse. Clare Haven Services promotes the rights of women and their children to live and grow in a peaceful, non-violent home environment.

We are currently recruiting for the following part time posts in our service:

  1. Client Support Worker with a specialism in Children & Young People

  2. Children & Young Peoples’ Support Worker

We are looking for qualified, committed individuals’ who are passionate about working with Children & Young People, to work as part of the Children & Young People’s Service’s team to ensure consistent care and support for children and young people using the service. The successful candidates’ will have ability to work alone and in team settings to provide a therapeutic environment for children and young people who are experiencing domestic violence.

The posts are part time based on 20 hours per week. The candidates’ for both posts will be required to be reliable and flexible regarding their hours of work and duties assigned. The working hours will be determined by the need of the service and there may be occasion to work in the evening or over a weekend


1. Client Support Worker with a specialism in Children & Young People - ‘Job Description’ attached.

Qualification Requirements & Experience:

  • Relevant third level qualification at degree level 8 in the area of Early Childhood Studies
  • 5 years’ experience working with children and families.
  • Experience in planning & supporting play activities that provide therapeutic benefits.

And

  • Ability to assess the support needs of children & young people
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and to be reactive to the needs of the children & young people.
  • Ability to engage with a variety of professional and individuals to provide a holistic & integrated response to the needs of children & young people
  • Be committed to work in partnership with mothers
  • Computer literate
  • Report writing abilities

2. Children & Young Peoples’ Support Worker. ‘Job Description’ attached.

  • 2 - 3 years’ experience working with children and families.

And

  • Ability to assess the support needs of children & young people
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and to be reactive to the needs of the children & young people.
  • Ability to engage with a variety of professional and individuals to provide a holistic & integrated response to the needs of children & young people
  • Be committed to work in partnership with mothers
  • Computer literate
  • Report writing abilities
