Project Co-ordinator – Limerick City

Fulltime and Permanent Contract.
The working hours are 8-5 (Monday to Thursday) and 8-11 on Friday)
Salary: €38,819 - €55,788 DOE

The post will be primarily based at Barnardos Limerick South project and also in the breakfast club and afterschool service based in the Southside Educational Campus, Roxboro, Limerick.

Project Co-ordinator Limerick South

The Project Co-ordinator oversees the delivery of the Early Bird Service (Breakfast Club) and the Afterschool Service located on the Southside Education Campus. The Southside Education Campus incorporates two DEIS schools (Le Chéile National School and Gaelscoil Sheoirse Clancy) and a Child and Family Centre. The campus is based on an extended school service model and aims to maximise the contributions of all the stakeholders, which includes the Department of Education and social support through agencies primarily funded by Tusla.

Barnardos Limerick South Family Support Service is the lead agency co-ordinating the delivery of the Early Bird Service and the Afterschool Service utilising the staff and resources of a number of partner agencies.
These partners are Barnardos, Southill School Completion Programme, and Pobal (through Le Chéile National School) and Gaelscoil Sheoirse Clancy in order to optimise positive outcomes for children attending these two services.

Experience and Qualifications required

  • A minimum of 3 years post qualification experience and demonstrate management capacity essential and experience of a lead or supervisory role highly desirable.


  • Relevant professional 3rd level (min level 7 on QQI) qualification essential, for example: Social Work, Social Care, Child Care, Education, Youth and Community Work, Psychology or equivalent.
  • Management training highly desirable.

Full driving licence and access to the use of a suitably insured car essential.

The postholder is initially assigned to work in the Limerick South Family Support service, Limerick but may be required in the future to work in other locations in the Limerick area in line with organisational needs.
