HEAD OF COMMUNICATIONS & ENGAGEMENT

Gaisce – The President’s Award is a national non-formal education award that every young person aged 14-25 is encouraged to achieve. The Gaisce Award is delivered by more than 1,200 President’s Award Leaders across a range of organisations supporting young people in schools, youth services, custody, and workplaces among others.

The Gaisce framework is a personal development programme which enhances skills, confidence, belonging and wellbeing through participation in personal, physical, community and adventure/team challenges.  Since it was started in 1985, more than 350,000 young people across Ireland have achieved their Gaisce Award at Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award levels.

Gaisce is seeking to appoint a Head of Communications and Engagement to help achieve our ambitious aim to increase growth in access and participation that leaves no young person behind. The post holder will lead and develop profile and awareness opportunities and drive a communications strategy to further position Gaisce as a treasured national non-formal education award that every young person aged 14-25 aspires to and is encouraged to achieve.

Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Communications and Engagement is a key member of Gaisce Leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with at least 5 years’ experience in a senior role leading, developing, and successfully implementing communications and/or public affairs, PR, or marketing strategies on behalf of an organisation.

It is an opportunity for someone who has an affinity for what we do and has the capability and flair to transform our communications capabilities to realise our ambitions and build on engagement that Gaisce – The President’s Award has achieved.
