HEAD OF OPERATIONS AND STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT
Gaisce – The President’s Award is a national non-formal education award that every young person aged 14-25 is encouraged to achieve. The Gaisce Award is delivered by more than 1,200 President’s Award Leaders across a range of organisations supporting young people in schools, youth services, custody, and workplaces among others.
The Gaisce framework is a personal development programme which enhances skills, confidence, belonging and wellbeing through participation in personal, physical, community and adventure/team challenges. Since it was started in 1985, more than 350,000 young people across Ireland have achieved their Gaisce Award at Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award levels.
Gaisce is seeking to appoint a Head of Operations and Strategic Development to lead the delivery of programme activity (and related resourcing as well as enabling the ambitions of our current strategy. Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Operations and Strategic Development leads a team who oversee the implementation, development and evaluation of our programme and projects, the engagement and support of the national network of Presidents Award Leaders, as well as corporate support relating to sound organisational and financial management.
This role is key member of Gaisce Leadership team and provides an exciting opportunity for a varied operational and development role working as part of a close-knit team and engaging externally with a range of stakeholders. It is a role for someone who is a both a creative and strategic thinker with well-developed operational and programme delivery expertise underpinned by at least 5 years managing key aspects of an organisation at a senior level.
It is an opportunity for someone who has an affinity for what we do and can demonstrate the acumen to develop our capability to help to realise our ambitions especially in the area of increasing access and participation.
