Cabra Activities Based Recreational Alternatives for Youth Clg (C.A.B.R.A. for Youth) is a community youth initiative based in Cabra Parkside Community and Sports Centre, Cabra on Dublin’s Northside. The service is funded through the Young People’s Services and Facilities Fund which targets 10-24 year olds at risk.
The Independent Board of Management invites applications from suitably qualified enthusiastic people for the post of:
Youth Worker
This post is 28 hours per week over 4 days.
Using the Critical Social Education Model of Youth Work, as adapted by the organization, the Youth Worker working alongside the youth work team, will be primarily be involved in identifying and engaging with young people at risk in the community. The suitable candidate will engage in direct face to face work with young people, in group work, one to one work, centre based work, outreach work, issue based work and other areas of work as identified. This will also require planning, developing, implementing and evaluating developmental/educational programmes to meet the needs and interests of the young people, in line with organisation plans, as agreed with the Project Leader and Board of Management.
Essential
An NSETS recognised professionally endorsed qualification in Youth Work or Youth and Community Work.
Desirable
At least two years’ experience in direct work with young people at risk, in a youth work or community setting.
The successful candidate will be required to work scheduled hours at evenings and weekends.
