Invitation to join SICAP Training Panel 2018-2022

Mayo North East Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme SICAP is delivered within the municipal districts of Ballina and West Mayo and its purpose to:

  • Support communities and target groups to engage with relevant stakeholders in identifying and addressing social inclusion and equality issues, developing the capacity of local community groups and creating more sustainable communities
  • Support disadvantaged individuals to improve the quality of their lives through the provision of lifelong learning and labour market supports.

We are now looking for suitably qualified person(s) / companies who have experience of delivering suitable training to SICAP target community groups and individuals. All applicants should evidence their understanding of SICAP 2018-2022 and SICAP target groups, you have the opportunity to acquaint yourself with this information at www.pobal.ie/SICAP2018-2022

  • Health and wellbeing programmes of support
  • Equality and inclusion awareness and building inclusive communities

  • Building sustainable communities

  • Men’s Sheds activities
  • Public liability insurance / leasing buildings requirements

Small business supports

  • Start your own business course
  • Social media marketing
  • Product branding/packaging/promotion
  • Bookkeeping, taxation, VAT and annual returns
  • Sales and negotiation skills
  • Public procurement/tender application
  • GDPR for business
  • Video creating/ editing
  • Developing an online business
  • Mentoring for start-ups and small businesses

For SICAP target Individuals

  • Painting / decorating / tiling / laying wooden floors
  • Furniture restoration
  • D.I.Y. skills
  • IT skills
  • Literacy and numeracy
  • English as a second language
  • Coding workshops for primary/ post primary classes
  • Entrepreneurship workshops for primary/post primary classes
  • Programmes specifically for SICAP disadvantaged women /men
  • Touch typing
  • Arts and craft
  • Home repair and maintenance
  • Horticulture / Social Farming
  • Culinary skills with employer based work experience
  • Customer service skills with employer based work experience
  • Accredited food hygiene with employer based work experience
  • Professional interview board member to appraise interview techniques
  • Front office and reception skills (accredited and non-accredited)
  • Sales with employer based work experience

Suggestions for other suitable courses, their content and details are welcome. We are especially interested in suggestions that are innovative, possibly delivered in other European countries with proven efficacy and the model can be locally adapted.

Each proposal submitted should include the following information

  1. A profile of you/company and a CV of tutors involved in training delivery
  2. Course(s) title and detailed content
  3. Course costs / duration and hours per day
  4. Evidence of your experience of delivering the proposed training programme
  5. Detailed information how/where you would arrange employer based work experience where applicable
  6. Provide details of possible accreditation, if relevant
  7. Identify SICAP target group(s) for each proposal
  8. All trainers who conduct training for Mayo North East LEADER Partnership Company must submit a current Tax Clearance Number and Access Code
  9. Preparation time, materials, handouts, travel and course delivery must be included in the overall cost of each proposal
  10. Participant recruitment, training room and facilities (projector, refreshments) are provided by SICAP

Appointment onto the trainer database will be on the basis of documentation received or if necessary, interview.

Mayo North East is not obliged to accept any trainers nor does membership of the panel guarantee work.

This panel will be in place for the duration of the current SICAP programme 2018- 2022

Your submission will be acknowledged after the closing date.
