To evaluate the feasibility of scaling up the Adult Mental Health, North Dublin, Clinical Psychology Suicide Assessment and Treatment Service (SATS) -

Summary

The HSE National Office for Suicide Prevention (HSE NOSP) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced researchers / consultants to conduct a scalability assessment to test the feasibility of taking the Adult Mental Health, North Dublin Clinical Psychology approach to implementing the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) in their Suicide Assessment and Treatment Service (SATS) to scale.

The primary objectives are;

  • To articulate the Adult Mental Health North Dublin Clinical Psychology Suicide Assessment and Treatment Service model (e.g. via a logic model) including
    • the core components that define the innovation and
    • the activities necessary to put the innovation in place in North Dublin
  • To evidence the outcomes of the Adult Mental Health Clinical Psychology North Dublin Suicide Assessment and Treatment Service including
    • undertaking a scoping of data collection across Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs) as part of the CAMS delivery
    • developing a data collection/entry plan
    • undertaking data analysis to evidence outcomes and
    • assessing impact of the innovation on service providers and members of relevant health care teams
  • Undertake a scalability assessment by
    • Engaging in a collaborative process with relevant stakeholders to reach consensus on which elements of the innovation should be prioritised or simplified during the scaling-up and
    • Assessing the attributes that determine the scalability of the innovation (using a framework such as the “CORRECT” attributions list i.e. credibility, observability, relevant, relative advantage, ease of transfer/installation, compatibility & testability)
