O’Brien Street

The MooreHaven Centre was founded in 1981 to provide day services for adults with an Intellectual Disability in Tipperary Town. The Centre now serves people in County Tipperary and in County Limerick providing Training Programme (RT), Day Services, Residential and Respite services. Currently, Day service locations are in Tipperary Town and Thurles.

The Mission of The MooreHaven Centre is to support each person to achieve their personal potential.

Applications are invited for the following permanent posts. Note the first two posts are for a new service that is being set up in Cashel.


Senior Supervisor

(Monday to Friday -39 Hours per week)

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the development and delivery of individual plans for adults participating in the training and day service programmes in line with the New Directions Programme for Adult Day Services. He/she will have the ability to work on their own initiative and supervise staff and adults on the programmes.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3 years’ experience in the field of intellectual disability.
  • A QQI accredited degree in training and education, Marketing, Media or other relevant discipline.
  • The Train the Trainer Qualification or its equivalent.
  • Experience of developing and delivering programmes at QQI Level 2 and above.
  • Knowledge/understanding of the New Directions Programme for Adult Day services

Instructor/ Supervisor

(Monday to Friday- 20 Hours per week).

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the delivery of individual plans for adults

participating in the training and day service programmes.  He/she will have responsibility for the supervision of adults and their integration into the community in line with the New Directions Programme for Adult Day Services.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2 years’ experience in the field of intellectual disability.
  • A relevant qualification at QQI Level 6 or its equivalent.
  • Train the Trainer Qualification or its equivalent.
  • Experience of delivering programmes at QQI Level 2 and above.
  • The ability to work on one’s own initiative.
  • Knowledge/understanding of the New Directions Programme for Adult Day services.

Instructor/ Supervisor

(Monday to Friday - 30 hours per week)

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the design and delivery of QQI modules at Levels 1, 2 and 3 and for the delivery of individual plans for adults participating in the day service programmes.  He/she will have responsibility for the supervision of adults and their integration into the community in line with the New Directions programme for adult day services.   

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2 years’ experience in the field of intellectual disability. 
  • A relevant qualification at QQI Level 6 or its equivalent.
  • The Train the Trainer Qualification or equivalent.
  • The ability to work on one’s own initiative.
  • Knowledge/understanding of the New Directions Programme for Adult Day services

Department of Health & Children Salary Scales 01/10/2018 will apply.
