COPE Galway are looking to recruit for the role of:
Project Worker (Part Time) – Family Support Services
Hours of Work: This is a part time position, 30 hours per week
COPE Galway’s Family Support Services works with families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Galway. Referrals are made to the services from a variety of sources including both Galway City and Galway County Council housing departments and other statutory and voluntary sector agencies.
The post of Family Support Worker will involve working directly with families across Galway City and Galway County as part of the Family Support staff team, responding appropriately to their needs.
A detailed job description and person specification outlines the full criteria required for the position but includes the following:
- A third level qualification in Social Care, Community Development or related field.
- A working knowledge of Housing Legislation in Ireland, current homelessness policy and an up to date knowledge of best practice in the area of homeless services.
- A minimum of two years full time experience of working in the area of homelessness, housing and/ or community development.
- Experience of interagency working with a range of housing, welfare and health services.
Successful Garda clearance is required for this position.
