Applications are invited for the position of Social Care Worker

Location: Rathmore Residential Service

Post: Specified Purpose Contract (Maternity Leave Cover) Part-Time Post (29 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities:

  • To facilitate and implement a person-centred approach for our individuals appropriate to their wishes and goals.
  • To promote and protect the right of the people we support in a manner that respects their dignity, right to make choices and their privacy.
  • To actively seek new interests and opportunities for the people we support to develop meaningful roles in their Communities.
  • To ensure the overall wellbeing of the people we support in all areas of their lives including health and personal care.
  • To assist in the teaching of life skills in cooking, budgeting, cleaning & building confidence.

Applicants must have;

  • BA in Applied Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of working in a care delivery capacity, preferably within a disability service.
  • A passion for promoting and empowering those you support.
  • An excellent knowledge of the HIQA regulations and standards.
  • Car owner with a full clean drivers licence and be willing to drive Association vehicles.

Applications are invited for the position of Support Worker

Location: Killarney Day Service

Post: 2 x Permanent, Part-Time Posts ( 12 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities:

  • To facilitate the planning and setting goals with the person and to assist them in meeting their personal, social recreational, academic, Independent living, Community integration, training and supported employment needs.
  • To enable the people we support realise their goals and achieve their identified priorities and to furthermore act as an advocate for participation and inclusion in the Community.
  • To operate within the framework of a person centred approach and to actively engage with and promote co-operation and partnership with other services, both internally, externally and particularly with families.

Applicants must have;

  • QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of working in a care delivery capacity within a disability service.
  • A proven track record of implementing a person-centred approach for individuals appropriate to their wishes and goals.
  • A passion for promoting and empowering those you support.
  • Enthusiasm, energy and creativity.
  • Car owner with a full clean drivers licence essential and willingness to drive Association vehicles.

We are also seeking to recruit relief Nurses, Social Care & Support Workers – Countywide

(A panel may be formed from which future vacancies throughout the Association may be filled up to the 31st of March 2020)
