CAVAN VOLUNTEER CENTRE (CVC)

Cavan Volunteer Centre (CVC CLG) is the primary resource for both volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations (VIO’s) in County Cavan.

Our mission is to promote the value of volunteering and increase the range and quality of volunteering in Co Cavan.

Having secured funding from the Department of Rural & Community Development (DRCD), under the Dormant Account funds, Cavan Volunteer Centre are now seeking to recruit for the following three positions:


Job Title: Volunteer Centre Manager (Part-time)

Reporting to: Board of Directors/Management Committee

Base: Cavan Volunteer Centre Offices, 2 College Street, Cavan

Overview: Key Areas of Work:

  • This position will focus on promoting volunteering and civic participation across the whole community of Cavan town & County.
  • The primary objective of the role is to establish, develop and manage a high quality Volunteer Centre to serve volunteers and Community & Voluntary Sector groups.
  • The role involves managing the delivery of the service;
  • Managing the staff of the Volunteer Centre and;
  • Managing the future development of the Centre together with the Board of Directors.

Salary Scale: €29,640 pa based on a 3 day 21-hour working week which may include occasional weekend and evening work. The post is subject to funding.


Job Title: Garda Vetting & Placement Worker (Part-time)

Base: 2 College Street, Cavan, Co Cavan

Reporting to: The Centre Manager

Overview: Key Areas of Work:

  • To be the main point of contact for the Co Cavan Garda Vetting service. (Garda Vetting Training will be provided).
  • To take responsibility for the administrative functions of the Volunteer Centre (including the administration of the I-VOL/Salesforce database)
  • Actively assist individuals to find meaningful opportunities to volunteer and place volunteers with suitable Volunteer involving organisations (VIO’s).
  • Provide assistance with the Centres core function of ‘placement of volunteers’ (assistance will include phone & email follow ups with volunteers and organisations and the ongoing promotion of the Centre through Social Media and newsletters)

Salary: €20,748 pa based on a 3 day 21-hour working week which may include occasional weekend and evening work. The post is subject to funding.


Job Title: Volunteer Development Worker (Full-time)

Base: 2 College Street, Cavan, Co Cavan (with the role covering a County wide remit).

Reporting to: The Centre Manager

Overview:

To assist with the volunteer placement service and offer a support service to volunteer-involving organisations (VIOs). This will involve helping individuals find meaningful opportunities to volunteer and building the capacity of not-for-profit organisations to involve volunteers in their work.

Key areas of work will include

  • Support Volunteer Involving Organisations (VIOs) in Co Cavan
  • Put effective systems in place to recruit, support and manage volunteers.
  • Increase access to Volunteering by directing Volunteers to suitable volunteering opportunities in local organisations across the County.
  • Increase the Quality of Volunteering in Co Cavan and follow up with both Volunteer Involving Organisations and Volunteers to ensure their needs are being met.
  • Assist the staff of the Centre in the promotion of volunteering and their work via information sessions, social media, local papers, newsletters etc.
  • Work closely with the staff team to enhance the services of the Centre and meet the targets set out in the Work Plan & Strategic Plan

Salary: Salary is €34,580 pa based on a 5 day 35-hour working week which may include occasional weekend and evening work. This post is subject to funding.
