St. Joseph's Foundation is a voluntary organisation providing comprehensive services for people with intellectual disabilities. Founded in 1968 the Foundation has grown through continuously responding to the needs of people with intellectual disabilities and their families.  The Foundation presently provides early intervention, pre-school, school, adult day services, residential, respite care, elder care and home support in the North Cork and South West Limerick region. We have day services and or RT Locations in Charleville, Mitchelstown, Mallow and Liskennett with residential services in Co Limerick: Ballylanders, Croom, Ballyagran, Bruree, Kilmallock, Dromcollogher and in Co Cork: Charleville, Dromina, Newtownshandrum, Buttevant and Newmarket.    Applications are invited for the following permanent posts:

CARE ASSISTANTS (maximum 39 hours per week)

 DAY/RESIDENTIAL SERVICES
Permanent Posts Full time, Part time & Relief

The ideal candidates will have:

  •  Experience of working with children/adults in the field of intellectual disability some of whom may present with behaviour which challenges.
  • A relevant qualification,QQ1 Level 5 Healthcare Course (desirable)
  • A high degree of flexibility

SENIOR SUPERVISOR

(Monday to Friday – 35 hours per week)

The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for the development and delivery of individual plans for Service users in Rehabilitative Training and Day Service Programmes. He /She will have responsibility for the supervision of Service users and their integration into the community in line with the New Directions Programme for Adult Day Services. He / She will also have the responsibility for the supervision of staff.

The ideal candidate will have;

  • A QQI Accredited Diploma/ Degree in Applied Social Studies/ Social care or a qualification in Nursing (RNID) or Social work (Degree) or a Degree in Training and Education.
  • Train the Trainer Qualification, or its equivalent is essential.
  • The ability to work on his /her own initiative and supervise service users/ staff in a day service/ Rehabilitative Training Programme setting
  • A minimum of three years post qualification experience in the Intellectual Disability sector.
  • Knowledge/understanding of the new Directions Programme for Adult Day Services..
  • Experience of developing and delivering training programmes eg, RT, QQ I Programmes.

BASIC GRADE SUPERVISOR

(Monday to Friday – 35 hours per week)

The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for the delivery of individual plans and the supervision of Service Users participating in Rehabilitative Training & Day Service Programmes.  He/she will also be responsible for the   integration of Service Users into the community in line with the New Directions Programme for Adult Day Services.

The ideal candidate will have;

  • A relevant qualification at QQI Level 5 or equivalent
  • The ability to work on his/her own initiative and supervise service users in a Day Service/Rehabilitative Training Programme setting.
  • Experience in the Intellectual Disability sector.
  • Knowledge/understanding of the New Directions Programme for Adult day Services

  • Qualifications must be validated with the Department of Health & Children if studies were completed outside Ireland.
  • Department of Health & Children Salary Scales of 1/11/2013 apply.
  • A full Irish/EU Driving Licence is a requirement of the posts.
  • Indemnification of the Foundation on your car insurance policy is a requirement of the Supervisor posts.
