Co-operative Housing Ireland (CHI) is the national federation for the co-operative housing movement. Founded in 1973, CHI has supported the provision of homes across the country and promoted the development of affiliated local co-operative societies across Ireland. CHI currently employs over 70 staff and is responsible for the management of more than 2,500 homes. CHI’s housing units are collectively valued at €247 million. The organisation’s budgeted turnover for 2019 is approximately €18.5 million.

CHI is committed to leading the development of social, economic and environmental sustainability in Ireland. The Association has a proven record of forging innovative partnerships between communities and the public and private sectors. Due to substantial organisational and membership growth, CHI is now seeking to recruit 4 Housing Officers.

Housing Officer (4 Positions)

Reporting to the Housing Services Manager, the Housing Officer will work with co-operative members, community representatives and a range of other key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of quality housing management services. Working closely with designated co-operative housing estates and apartment blocks, the Housing Officer will coordinate caretaking, repair and maintenance services. The Housing Officer will play a key role in ensuring that policies and procedures for housing management and maintenance are implemented.

Candidates will be expected to have experience of working within the property sector and/or a role with similar duties/responsibilities. Applicants will need to be exceptional communicators and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Additionally, candidates will also be required to have a strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and continually work in a professional manner.

One of these vacancies will be based in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford and the other three will be based in Mulhuddart, Co Dublin. All four vacancies will require travel, so a full driving licence and access to your own car is required.
